Good News Club
Coordinator: Denise Hartnett
A program based on Acts 2:42
"They devoted themselves to the apostles 'teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer.'"
Good News Club focuses on four areas:
1. Teaching (Bible Study)
- 1st and 2nd graders learn about the sacraments of Communion and Baptism.
- 3rd and 4th graders learn to use their bibles and study creation, the
covenant and the fulfillment of that Covenant through Jesus Christ.
- 5th and 6th graders focus on the Fruits of the Spirit.
2. Fellowship/Activities (Crafts, Recreation, or Service Projects)
We play games do craft projects or we focus on serving our Lord.
Special events during the year include sledding, a kickball game with the kids vs.
the GNC leaders and singing time at local nursing homes.
3. Breaking of Bread (Family Snack Time)
During this time Family Groups are composed of youth at each table with Table
Parents. A snack is shared each week.
4. Prayer (Worship/Good News Choir Practice)
During this time we have choir where the kids learn about worshiping God
through music. The Good News Choir performs during a church service one
Sunday per month.
