Year of the Bible Blog
This week’s guest bloggers are Reverends Forrest and Susan Krummel.

From last week’s blog: “Job's position throughout his argument has been that he is righteous in the sense that he has been and continues to be pure in conduct.  In short, he has not done anything wrong.  (Job’s friend) Zophar, on the other hand, does not focus on Job's experience nor his behavior in this sense, but rather on the incorrectness of Job's doctrine.”

Next week’s guest blogger is Dr. James E. Davison, author of the Year of the Bible reading program (Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, PA)

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Help Request

Some of the congregations in our Presbytery will be dealing with the affects of the flooding in their communities for the next several weeks.

We’d like to start a list of people who are willing and able to help in the communities affected by flooding.  If you are willing to be on a flood assistance list, contact Sarah Dyck.  She will need your name, phone number, email address, and skills (debris clean up, mucking, rebuilding skills, etc). She’ll then work off this list to match those skills with the needs in the flooded communities.  People can call Sarah at (319) 321-4165 or email her at sdyck@peia.org.

Mt. T.O.P. Tools – Thank You!

Thank you so much to everyone who brought in tools and sponsored our youth and adults.  Please pray for everyone at Mt. T.O.P. this week and for their safe return this Sunday.

School Supply Ministry
School begins in 3 weeks! Help us gather supplies for students in our local community who need help purchasing necessary school items.  A list of items is available on the bulletin board by the office and in the Vestibule, or ask Lynda secretaryfpc@iowatelecom.net

Thank you for your generosity; our local youth will be blessed to have nice items from FPC to start a successful year at School.  Please bring items to the church office.

Rob Smith leads a book discussion group meeting this summer at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.  The current book is “The Prodigal God”.  Author Tim Keller uses the parable of the Prodigal Son to reveal an unexpected message of hope and salvation.

This book will challenge both the devout and skeptics to see
Christianity in a whole new way.  Talk to Rob if you’d like to join
(319) 530-2828.
